ISEE and TICO Target 2027 for Large-Scale Autonomous Yard Truck Production

Autonomous yard trucks are moving from pilot to production.

Autonomous trucking developer ISEE and terminal tractor manufacturer TICO are targeting 2027 for large-scale production of autonomous yard trucks, following key advancements in vehicle technology and safety validation. The companies say the latest Generation 7 platform and completion of a comprehensive safety case position them for broader commercial deployment.

ISEE currently operates more than 20 autonomous yard trucks across customer sites, performing thousands of trailer moves each week. The company reports that its systems are designed to improve yard efficiency, reduce operational delays, and minimize safety incidents in distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and logistics hubs. With production-ready vehicles being developed alongside TICO, ISEE expects to secure orders for hundreds of autonomous yard trucks as the industry continues to explore automation in private yard environments, where lower speeds and controlled conditions make deployment more practical than on public highways.
