Maersk has announced the suspension of its Seasonal Transpacific Loader Service (TPX) between Asia and the U.S. West Coast, with the final 2026 sailing scheduled for September 29. The last eastbound voyage, TPX 640E, will be operated by Maersk Boston, departing from Vung Tau, Vietnam. Following this voyage, the TPX service will remain suspended for the balance of Q4 2026.
The adjustment comes shortly before China’s Golden Week holiday period and changes the additional capacity Maersk had introduced for the peak season. Maersk launched the seasonal TPX service in June 2026 to provide additional flexibility for demand between key origins in Vietnam and South Korea and the U.S. West Coast. The carrier has stated that alternative solutions through its existing network will be provided to maintain supply-chain coverage, while any potential reinstatement of the seasonal TPX service in 2027 will be communicated separately.
