CMA CGM Completes $1.4B FedEx Supply Chain Acquisition, Expanding CEVA in North America

On October 1, 2026, CMA CGM Group completed its $1.4 billion acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, significantly expanding the North American operations of its logistics subsidiary, CEVA Logistics. The deal brings nearly 10,000 FedEx Supply Chain employees and approximately 34 million square feet of warehouse space into CEVA’s network. The combined contract-logistics operation now includes roughly 150 warehouses, while CEVA’s broader North American presence grows to more than 240 locations and approximately 20,000 employees.

But the story extends beyond warehouses. Alongside the acquisition, CMA CGM and FedEx are entering multi-year commercial agreements covering ocean and air freight. CMA CGM will become a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx under a non-exclusive agreement, while the companies plan to collaborate on air-cargo capacity on strategic routes including Asia–Europe. For CMA CGM, this connects another major piece of the supply chain—from ocean shipping and terminals to inland transport, warehousing and value-added logistics—while FedEx says the sale supports its strategy of simplifying its portfolio and concentrating resources on its core transportation network.

The acquisition illustrates a broader direction in global logistics: physical networks, transportation capacity and digital operations are increasingly being brought together under integrated supply-chain platforms. CMA CGM says the combination will also accelerate automation and robotics across CEVA’s North American network, while expanding capabilities in sectors including healthcare, technology, consumer and retail. For freight teams, managing increasingly connected networks also means managing a growing flow of documents and shipment data. That is where tools such as FreightGraph AutoFill can help turn freight documents into structured, usable data instead of repetitive manual entry.
