Despite the challenges facing air cargo—such as shifting trade policies and rising tariffs—industry experts are optimistic about opportunities.

Neel Jones Shah of The Boston Consulting Group believes that while the peak season volumes may dip due to new tariffs and the ending of the de minimis exemption, airfreight thrives in chaos. The unexpected 5% volume growth in July reflects how the industry has adapted to the current situation. Some trade lanes, especially China to the U.S., will face heavier hurdles, but others are outperforming expectations, particularly in Latin America.
