USPS Adds 11 New Delivery Hubs

USPS is expanding its network right before peak season.

The Postal Service just announced 11 new Sorting & Delivery Centers will open before the holidays — 10 on Sept. 6 and another in October. New hubs include Baltimore, Charlotte, Sioux Falls, Springfield, Texarkana, and more.

These large facilities consolidate delivery work into fewer, bigger sites, part of USPS’ “Delivering for America” overhaul. The goal: simplify operations, lower costs, and strengthen reliability against FedEx and UPS.

Since 2022, USPS has opened 96 of these centers — with plans for 300 total in the coming years. This round is timed to boost holiday season readiness, just as USPS prepares another package price hike to offset peak shipping demand.
